Busy Times

Well it has been a very busy couple of weeks here. We’ve finally starting shooting on the next big project and I can now reveal some interesting information.

Gremlins (secret working title so I we don’t give away any ideas of what we’re working on) is set to push us to the real limit in terms of special effects and what we can do with a camera. So far the raw footage that I’ve seen is so visually pleasing (even without the special effects) that our work is starting to look like proper cinematic films now.

Like Decapitated that was released earlier this year it is a stand alone film that has no connection to other Dulwich Studios films. Gremlins will also focus on a specific genre and while mocking that genre a bit it will also include tons of action and explosions...remember those special effects I mentioned earlier? That’s all I can say for the moment on that but we should have a trailer along before the end of the year, maybe it could be our Christmas present to you. The film should be released sometime in December

This last week has been completely dominated by the production stage of another film. No it isn’t a massive project  but it is in fact similar to Wasted, despite being more technically challenging. As you probably remember Joe worked on Wasted as part of his course for The BRIT School and now he has been commissioned to make a musical film alongside Simple Crayon Productions. Hey Boy is a short film musical that is set to be premiered on the 8th of December during the BRIT School’s show Glimpse. If we get any spare time we’ll give more updates but we’re so busy working to the deadline for Hey Boy that even Gremlins has been pushed to the side.

Just a quick note on WoodlandsTV. We’ve been having a few diffculties with getting new films edited so until this is sorted out we’ll be updating some of the orginal films. YouTube has improved it’s quality so much since we started WoodlandsTV that we thought it was a good idea for us to put out some of our films with higher viewing figures in HD rather than that horrible blurry quality. The first film we have given this treatment is Using A Kelly Kettle and that can be seen on the WoodlandsTV YouTube Channel Page.

Also Angus Hanton, who is basically the producer and commissioner for all the WoodlandsTV videos, dropped by the other day to show us these new promotional items that he’s had made.

They are little USB sticks which are preloaded with some of the WoodlandsTV films and they’re made out of wood too. They were so nice that we thought we’d mention them on here so that if you see us filming anytime you can stop and ask for one...honestly we’ve got about 500 of them.

And so another update ends. I know all our work seems to look like it’s quite a long way off being seen but I promise there is something new and exciting just around the corner. If we have time we’ll get it up by the end of the week but for now we need to get back to editing Hey Boy.
